New Hampshire Scholars

New Hampshire Scholars is a community-based program that encourages students to take a more rigorous Core Course of Study in high school. It is based on a partnership between a community’s local business leaders and its school district. New Hampshire Scholars is funded through the New Hampshire Department of Education.

New Hampshire Scholars is coordinated through a partnership between the New Hampshire College and University Council, Campus Compact for New Hampshire and the New Hampshire Department of Education. New Hampshire Scholars is part of the National State Scholars Initiative Network. Twenty-five states across the country participate in this national initiative.

Northern New England Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA Collaboration

The Northern New England AmeriCorps*VISTA Collaboration is comprised of the Campus Compact state affiliates in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.  The collaboration is based on mutual interest in supporting service and service-learning focused on anti-poverty measures across the more than seventy colleges and universities in our collective memberships.  The goal of our VISTA project is focused on the development of programming on campuses across Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont that will increase access and retention to higher education for low income individuals by providing programming focused on improving college aspirations, promoting the belief that college is an option and increasing access to higher education for low income individuals seeking higher education.

AmeriCorps*VISTA is a national service program in which volunteers apply their skills in underserved communities, designing programs that will continue after they complete their service.  Part of the AmeriCorps national network of service programs, AmeriCorps*VISTA has been meeting the needs of communities since 1965.

New Hampshire College & University Council

The New Hampshire College & University Council (NHCUC) is a non-profit consortium of 21, public and private institutions of higher education in the state of New Hampshire. These institutions are recognized and highly regarded for their outstanding teaching, research, and community service activities. They serve as major centers of activity that are vital to the economic development of the community and the state.

Campus Compact for New Hampshire

Campus Compact for New Hampshire (CCNH) is a consortium of New Hampshire’s college and university presidents committed to promoting service learning and civic engagement on campuses in New Hampshire.  CCNH provides leadership throughout the state and nation to reinvigorate the civic and moral leadership of higher education in ways that connect colleges and universities with the communities and constituencies they serve.  CCNH also works to expand higher education’s role in educating students not only for careers and jobs but also for their roles as active and engaged community members.  Campus Compact for New Hampshire administers the Northern New England AmeriCorps*VISTA Collaboration.
